Equivalent Exposure Chart

This chart works the same as an exposure dial to help you find equivalent exposures when taking photographs in Manual mode on your camera.

Welcome!

Welcome to YFA Digital Photography. In this class we will learn the basics of how Digital Cameras work, Photo editing in Adobe Photoshop, lighting techniques and how to compose single images as well multiple images.

Assignment #1 Dawn and Dusk

ASSIGNMENT 1—Dawn and Dusk

Shoot at least 36 photographs of any outdoor subject during the first two or last two hours of sunlight.

Pay attention to how the settings on your camera (ISO, shutter speed, aperture) affect the images and how the sunlight plays a part in the final images.

For 6 of the photographs, record the camera's exposure values and then for each of those 6 values, find 2 equivalent exposures using your exposure dial.

Bring your camera and this assignment sheet to class to upload the images for editing next week
